I got a bit more sleep last night. I could have used even more, but it is what it is. Mrs. Coelho made an egg salad with corn beef to go on our toast this morning, and there were no indian spices in it. I’m not sure if I was happy about that or disappointed. It is hard to tell these days. Sometimes I love Indian food. Sometimes I can’t stand it. It’s a mood thing.

I got to know some of the kids at the school today. They were practicing for a Christmas skit that they will perform tomorrow. And I sat in on their lunch and their music class. The kids here are so polite. They ask permission just to walk through the door of the classroom. One of the kids asked me if they could come in and I was so confused as to why they wouldn’t just walk in. It isn’t how they were taught. They were taught to ask first.

When I sat in on their lunch, almost every kid asked me if I wanted some of their food. And they don’t just have peanut butter and jelly sandwiches here. They all have a nice variety of indian dishes. Also, they do not sit at tables for lunch. Everyone takes their shoes off outside the classroom and sits down on a big mat together to eat. That was my favorite part of lunch. We had music class after that with Sir Robin, and the kids sang beautifully. We did some worship songs and some Christmas carols.

After school, we headed back to the house and ate a rice dish that Mrs. Coelho made. I though that the chili pepper was a green bean..... so my mouth was eternally on fire. I downed some yogurt after that and felt much better. We ended the day by wrapping Christmas presents for the kids at the school.
