I have been having some wacky dreams (a nice side effect of my malaria pills), so I had a pretty restless night. We had practice for the New Year’s Eve service again, so Pastor Anil was heading over to pick us up. He drives a white Volkswagen. I saw it coming down the road and started flailing my arms in the air like a lunatic, just for fun. And of course it wasn’t him. About 20 seconds later he came from the same direction as the other car and it was the exact same model Volkswagen...
Anyways, we practiced for almost three hours, ensuring that our performance would be top notch at the service. We headed home after practice and passed out for a few hours (preparing for the long night ahead of us). The service started at 8pm. A few different pastors spoke, we partook in communion, we watched a video recapping the year, and we sang a bunch of songs. Afterwards, there was a huge barbecue outside. There was a big bonfire in the middle. There were floating lanterns being lit and flying up above the church. There was music and singing. It was really a beautiful night to remember.
